Vernon LaFreniere

ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner)

Board certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority I am an experienced specialist in medication management. I graduated from the University of Washington Psychiatric ARNP program. I have a rich 22 years of experience in the mental health field. While I limit myself to adult clients I see all clients with no limits to specific diagnostic criteria. Bring me any issue from florid psychosis and chemical dependency to work /family related stress and together we find solutions. I never give up and no problems are overwhelming or too small to interest me. While my first love is time spent with clients I occasionally take Psychiatric ARNP students helping them hone skills and have also worked as a Clinical Instructor/Associate Professor for Shoreline Community College School of Nursing supervising BSN students at Harborview Medical Center.

I support patients in gaining greater insight, developing more effective coping skills, and by empowering them to manage the difficult challenges that life often presents. Using a holistic approach of cognitive-behavioral techniques and medication management we will find the right combination to meet your needs. Together, we will find the best treatment options based on your specific situation and preferences. As the leader of our loose group of individual practitioners I encourage input that may help us provide better and more comprehensive care for our individual clients. Please tell us how you think we can change with the times to better serve you.
